My mother has Alzheimer's disease and we (me and my siblings) are trying to do some financial and legal planning for the future. I'm wondering what type of legal paperwork is required in order for me as a caregiver to take over the finances and make medical decisions for my mom when she's no longer able to handle things on her own. Is a legal power of attorney the only document required?by jake g - Welcome!
Hi Gord, Thanks so much for posting your questions about Alzheimer's and diabetes. My mom was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's and she also has diabetes. When it comes to diet, it can be quite confusing to try to juggle a healthy brain diet, while ensuring she is staying on her diabetic diet. I look forward to learning more from the links suggested by the AlzU Team. I am also planningby jake g - Welcome!

Thanks so much to the staff and writers at AlzU.org for the wealth of information. The AlzU.org blog has been most helpful in my personal experience dealing with a family member with Alzheimer's disease. I noticed you recently posted a blog on your website in two parts about macular degeneration. I have a family member who was diagnosed with macular degeneration. I would like more informationby jake g - Welcome!
