I heard that coconut oil has cured some individuals with Alzheimer's disease. Is this possible?

Hi Mike,

The information you read about coconut oil curing Alzheimer's disease is not true; unfortunately, there is currently no cure for the disease. There is quite a bit of controversy on the effects of coconut oil and Alzheimer's disease, but clinical research does not currently indicate a direct connection between ingesting coconut oil and improvement in the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. However, recent studies have identified some foods and supplements that may help to slow the progression of the disease. Keep following Alzu.org for upcoming lessons on the brain healthy diet and Alzheimer's prevention. We hope this helps!
